On the other hand, the Kingston DataTraveler Ultimate 3.0 provides solid performance regardless of the file size and the ADATA Nobility Series N005 produced average read performance for the most part. While the DataTraveler’s write performance is very strong regardless of file size, the SuperSonic is pretty pathetic until the file size reaches at least 128K. While the ADATA Nobility Series N005 produced USB 2.0-like performance in our real world tests, it does relatively well in the Atto Disk Benchmark, providing less speed than the DataTraveler but more stable results than the SuperSonic. For something different, we decided to run the Intel NAS Performance Toolkit. Although this software is designed to test NAS devices, it works just fine for testing USB drives as well. As you can see for the most part the Patriot Supersonic provided the best performance followed by the Kingston DataTraveler Ultimate 3.0.
