Last year, Newgrounds banned images created with Artbreeder and recently revised their guidelines to prohibit AI-generated art in its art portal. The site did say that there are some use cases where AI is ok, for example if you are primarily showcasing your character art but use an AI-generated background. In such cases, any elements made using AI should clearly state this fact. On September 5, furry art community Fur Affinity outlawed submissions created using AI or similar image generators because they lack artistic merit....

To address the situation, a consortium of US attorneys general has formed a task force to give current anti-robocalling and telemarketing laws and regulations more teeth. The A10-5800K rendered 67fps in HandBrake, a 4% lead over the Phenom II X4 980, 7% over the A8-3850, and 9% over the Core i3-3220. Despite a 31% increase in clock frequency, the A10-5800K was just 5% faster than the A8-3850 with an average of 70.1fps. It was also 2% faster than the Core i3-3220 and 8% slower than the Phenom II X4 980, suggesting that this test makes use of L3 cache....

The Radeon HD 6550D is similar to the Radeon HD 5670 in the sense that it features five SIMD engines, 400 SPUs (Stream Processing Units), 20 TAUs (Texture Address Units) and 8 ROPs (Raster Operation Units). However while the core configuration is the same, the actual performance of the Radeon HD 6550D will be much lower because of two key changes. The most obvious difference is the chip’s clock frequency, which has been reduced 23% from 775MHz on the HD 5670 to just 600MHz for the HD 6550D....

The Phenom II X4 970 was roughly 2fps faster than the 965 which was enough to match the performance of the Core i5 750 processor. The Phenom II X2 560 provided almost no performance gain when compared to the 100MHz slower 555. The Athlon II X2 265 was also roughly a single frame per second faster than its predecessor while the Athlon II X4 645 was almost 2fps faster than the 640 while the Athlon II X3 445 slotted in-between the two Athlon II X4 processors....

Using SiSoftware Sandra 2009 to measure the available bandwidth showed that the Phenom II X2 550 and Athlon II X2 250 processors are quite efficient when compared to the Intel Pentium and Core 2 Duo processors. Both produced a memory bandwidth of roughly 10.5GB/s when paired with DDR3-1333 memory. Although the Intel processors were using DDR2-1066 memory we have found more often than not that DDR2 memory clocked at this frequency delivers better results than DDR3 memory clocked at 1333MHz or less....

Both support a total of 38 PCIe 2.0 lanes, but while the 790FX featured four PCIe 1.1 lanes for the A-Link Express II feature in the north bridge, A-Link Express III on the 890FX chipset calls for four PCIe 2.0 lanes. AMD’s enterprise, embedded, and semi-custom segment was the quarter’s high earner, bringing in $2.5 billion for a yearly growth rate of 88%. Its operating income was even more impressive, seeing growth of 218% compared to a year earlier. The Radeon HD 7970 GHz Edition performed well in Deus Ex: Human Revolution despite being just 3% faster than the standard 7970. Averaging 66fps meant that the Radeon HD 7970 GHz Edition was 6% faster than the GeForce GTX 680 and 14% faster than the GTX 670. The Radeon HD 7970 GHz Edition provided a 14% performance gain over the standard 7970 when testing with Hard Reset as it averaged 50fps....

Here’s another new game we’ve added to the list, Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice. Unfortunately as this is a new title and it does use the Unreal 4 engine, AMD has some drier work to do here as well. Vega 56 was 10% slower at 1440p when compared to the GTX 1070 and again just a few percent faster than the old Fury X. Crysis 3 Another older game we’ve brought back for this one is Crysis 3 and despite it’s age AMD also have some driver work to do here as well....

AMD’s Radeon RX 6500 XT briefly sold below MSRP in Europe last month, but many gamers are still waiting for prices to drop on mid-range and high-end GPUs. Indeed, prices for both Nvidia and AMD models are now the lowest they’ve been since the start of 2021, but as the two companies prepare to launch refreshed and next-generation cards, we may see a slowdown of this trend in the coming months....

Looking at raw CPU performance with Cinebench R15 we see that the 1400 is 26% faster than the i5-7400 for multi-threaded workloads though the single-threaded performance was almost 10% down. Compared to the overclocked Core i3-7350K, it was interesting to see the stock 1400 being 31% slower for single-threaded performance but 34% faster for multi-threaded workloads. Not only that but once overclocked, the Ryzen 5 1400 was 67% faster than the i3-7350K in this test!...

Since the launch of the Ryzen Mobile 4000 series, the original plan was test U-series parts shortly after that, but delays hit most product launches and only now PC makers are starting to ship Ryzen ultraportables in serious volume. We already know how well Zen 2 scales up to higher TDPs in the H-series – parts such as the Ryzen 7 4800H – but how this applies to ultraportables has remained unclear....

AMD recently announced their Ryzen 7000 series, scheduled to be released on September 27. AMD CEO Lisa Su revealed four new Ryzen 7000 series SKUs based on the 5nm Zen 4 core architecture, with the flagship 7950X boasting boost speeds of up to 5.7 GHz. The new AM5 platform will of course only support DDR5 memory, with the Ryzen 7000 series offering native DDR5-5200 support and up to DDR5-6400 overclocking speed....
